I’ve been interested in transportation, electricity, and technology for as long as I can remember. From learning about roadway signs and pavement markings when I was five, to hand-sketching whole city maps as a kid, and experiencing electrical principles by wiring my own model traffic signals as a teen, engineering of one kind or another has always been an integral part of my life.

I was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and spent the majority of my formative years in my hometown of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. After a year stint in Fort McMurray, Alberta, I returned to Saskatoon and convocated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (2005).

In 2006, I moved to Calgary, Alberta, where I was formally initiated into the world of transportation engineering and planning, which subsequently has become a major part of my career for the past decade. I currently call London, Ontario home and have lived here since 2009 with my wife and our two daughters.

When not busy with my career life, I am involved with other ever-changing activities that pique my interest, including travelling, hiking, ballroom dancing, yoga, snowboarding, learning about new technologies, checking out a hackerspace, etc. As it turns out, I have a lifelong obsession with learning – if you don’t know where you’ve been, you don’t know where you’re headed. I am always interested in learning and debating about history, politics, philosophy, and education.

At times, one needs to attempt to be unconventional on purpose. Conventional has been done – so let’s learn some lessons from history, be creative in the moment, and move forward to the future!
